Project Summary

“Baristas of the Future” is a scholarship and training program designed to empower young Colombians—particularly those from coffee-growing regions or migrant communities—by offering them the opportunity to study, train, and become certified as professional baristas abroad. This initiative opens doors to dignified employment, cultural exchange, and future entrepreneurship in the specialty coffee sector.

Why This Matters

Colombia is known worldwide for its specialty coffee, yet many young people in rural and migrant communities lack access to quality education and job opportunities. At the same time, the global coffee industry is in need of passionate, trained professionals. This program is the bridge.

By investing in this initiative, you’re not only changing lives—you’re helping to strengthen the entire Colombian coffee value chain and promote cultural richness abroad.

What the Scholarship Includes

Each selected candidate will receive:

• Full tuition to a professional barista certification program (abroad or with international standards)

• Travel and visa support

• Accommodation for the duration of the training

• A professional barista kit (apron, tools, notebook, etc.)

• Cultural immersion activities and language coaching (if applicable)

• Mentorship for career placement or entrepreneurship post-training

‍ Our Beneficiaries

This program is aimed at:

• Young Colombians (ages 18–30) from rural coffee-growing areas

• Migrant or second-generation Colombian youth living abroad

• Passionate individuals with a commitment to coffee and community

We will prioritize individuals with limited economic resources, but great potential and drive.

Impact Goals

• Train 10 new baristas with international certification in the first cohort

• Foster employment opportunities in coffee shops, cafés, and events worldwide

• Encourage the creation of future coffee ventures led by these alumni

• Promote Colombian coffee and culture across borders
